LFC v WBA – Half Time Update

LFC lead by a goal to nil at the interval supplied by Adam Lallana who opens his Liverpool Premiership account with a quality effort on 45 minutes. Mario Balotelli finds himself on the bench after some less than convincing performances of late and Rickie Lambert comes in to replace him as the loan striker.

Liverpool have shown glimpses of an improvement although the service in from wide areas has been notably poor, In particular from Javi Manquillo. Glen Johnson was warming up midway through the first half and he may be brought into things after the break. West Brom have had a couple of opportunities although overall Mignolet has been comfortable between the sticks. Saido Berahino came close for the visitors on 35 minutes but other than that, Liverpool have this game for the taking.

The pick of the players: Raheem Sterling has ben lively but he needs a rest. I can see him being substituted in the second half ahead of the cup games in the week. Philippe Coutinho has put in a good shift so far too. The stand out performer for me has got to be Lallana. A deserved goal and the main attacking threat for the Reds so far.
