Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. vs Liverpool F.C. – Match Preview
Liverpool travel down the M6 tomorrow night to Molineux where they are hosted by newly promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers, or Wolves for those who crave naming convenience for game number 18 of this season’s Premier League.
Overview
Liverpool will be hoping to remain unbeaten – and top of the league, against a team currently punching above their weight in seventh position.
Fresh from Sunday’s victory against the old enemy Manchester United, Jürgen Klopp will be asking his players to continue where they left off. In so doing, maintaining their status as the only remaining unbeaten team in this season’s competition.
The Reds bid to stretch their unbeaten Premier League start to 18 on Friday. 💪🔴

Tomorrow’s hosts are also in a rich vein of form. Having won their last three games including the scalp of Chelsea at the beginning of December, manager Nuno Espírito Santo will be making a bid for another of the league’s big boys. Indeed, drawing against Arsenal and Manchester United, and narrowly losing out to Tottenham, he surely fancies his chances.
Liverpool have won two and drawn three of their last fixtures against the West Midlanders so this will by no means, be an easy game. Wolves, having not won in those matches, will be itching to get a win into the record books.
Team News
Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip occupy the treatment room according to PhysioRoom.com, in addition to long-term absentee Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. James Milner should recover from his Hamstring strain in time to feature, although this is by no means guaranteed.
Now they are really strong again, they won the last three; we have to go there and be at our best again.
Jürgen Klopp
Wolves only have one injury concern. Diogo Jota will miss tomorrow’s game with a hamstring injury so Santo has a more or less fully fit squad to choose from.
We’re going to face one of the best teams in Europe. We look forward to it.
Nuno Espírito Santo
Summary
There’s no doubting this will be a tough game for Liverpool. Wolves are a physical side and will want to let their visitors know they’re no pushovers.
Having drawn with Man City, Man United and Arsenal (should have won), as well as beating Chelsea, it is all set up for Wolves to end Liverpool's unbeaten start tomorrow night, right?? #WOLLIV

The smart man would see this as a Liverpool win but I feel this will be a tight game with a narrow scoreline.
A win would extend Liverpool’s lead at the top to four points. A loss, although not disastrous, would give Manchester City a huge incentive when they face Crystal Palace on Saturday.
