Players on Liverpool’s Radar as Club Targets New Midfielder

The winter transfer window hasn’t opened yet, but the speculation about potential reinforcements is already there. The FIFA World Cup provides fertile ground for scouting players fitting Liverpool’s system. With the explicit decline of quality in the middle of the park, the Reds are in need of fresh and capable addition.

Here are some of the exciting names, regularly linked with Liverpool.

Jude Bellingham

The transfer saga of the Borussia Dortmund forward and the Reds seem to be a never-ending story. In addition, it’s taken to another dimension and gathered pace, courtesy of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson’s strong bond with the 22-year-old.

Back in November this year, Jude Bellingham joined an exclusive club of only eight players to have a market value of €100m or more. According to Transfermarkt, he’s currently valued at 100 million euros. Make no mistake about it, his asking price is set to shoot up, given his eye-catching performances for England in Qatar.

Bellingham fits the bill for Klopp’s side. He looks like the missing part of the jigsaw, that would be the answer to a midfield problem. Versatile, confident on the ball, capable of carrying the ball out from the back, and making pogressive passes. He could play as a holding midfielder, acting as a link between the back and forward line.

Time will tell whether Bellingham will join Klopp’s troops. Dortmund’s director Carsten Cramer has told Liverpool not to expect any “gifts” in their pursuit of the English hot property.

Mohammed Kudus

Liverpool are weighing up the blueprint of a January move for Mohammed Kudus, who was on the verge of signing for Everton last summer.

The 22-year-old midfielder has enjoyed his time at the World Cup by netting two goals, but the journey for his country came to an end at the group stage.

His team-mate Iniaki Williams heaped praise on the Ghanian, while speaking to Radio Marca. He believes Ajax has become “too small” for the playmaker. “Ajax is becoming too small (for him). Hopefully, he will soon make the step up to a big club”.

Cody Gapko

His name was heard way before the tournament in Qatar got under way. He made history for the Netherlands, when he became the first Orange player to strike in all three group games.

Gapko learns the ropes at PSV. This season alone, he has 13 goals under his belt in all competitions for the Duch outfit. As a youngster, he found the football world eye-watering. He had to spend an extended stay on the sidelines Following the tearing of his calf muscle and breaking his ankle.

A quick, tall, versatile winger. More often than not, plays on the left wing, but was also tried on the right and as a centre-forward.

Enzo Fernandez

The Argentine forward has taken one hell of a journey. From being a Messi fan to starring alongside his idol at the World Cup. Having switched the domestic league in his homeland for the Primeira Liga this summer, he found his feet swiftly in the new environment.

His age profile (21 years-old) meets the requirements of the staff responsible for recruitment at Liverpool. The midfield is gasping for rejuvenation, and Fernandez could be a perfect fit.

He’s a central, more defensive-minded midfielder. His excellent ability of reading the game, lets him stop opponents in transitional moments. His assets also lie in possession of the ball, where he can build-up the action from the back by providing a progressive pass to his mates.
