LFC: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Weekly Update

Sometimes in defence he couldn’t cope, but now in Midfield, boy is he dope! Every year comes the same, when your country calls, you’ll miss the odd game. A journalist interprets a youngsters word, and says something totally absurd. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Another week reviewed at Liverpool Football Club.

The Good

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s midfield performances for England during the week. A couple of fantastic displays gives Gareth Southgate a selection dilemma ahead of the Euros in 2024.

The Bad

Club talisman and record scorer Mo Salah will miss a couple of crucial games next season due to Egypt’s participation in the African Cup of Nations.

The 31 year-old will miss the fixtures against Chelsea and Arsenal during his absence. The cash that the two London-based outfits are throwing around in the transfer window indicate these could well be pivotal fixture.

Still, two games don’t make a season any more than one swallow doesn’t make a summer. Not the end of the world, but not great either. One can understand Mo wanting to represent his country. Especially given last years result when Egypt lost to Senegal in the final.

The Ugly

A piece that was written in the Express this week where it was claimed that French international Ibrahima Konaté “demanded” Liverpool owners FSG to buy four players to replace Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who will all leave the Reds this summer.

However, on close examination of the actual transcript, no such “demand” was made. The player simply pointed out the glaringly obvious that the club will need to replace them. Demand he certainly didn’t.
