LFC: The Good, The Bad and, The Ugly Weekly Update #6
The youngsters are European champions now, but a striker could be in a club vs country row. A winger gives the boss his wish, now that he’s speaking English! Who’s staying and who’s on the move? Is the transfer window now getting into the groove? The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Another week reviewed at Liverpool Football Club.
The Good
England U21 win Euros with help from Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott. The Liverpool pair did both the club and the country proud.
The youngsters secured the first title in over 30 years, without conceding a goal to-boot. A superb achievement from Lee Carsley’s team. Credit also has to go to the English teams for producing such an array of talent. Not least of course the Reds for their contribution. Long May out continues!

The (Not) Bad
Darwin Núñez begins to show his English skills. It’s been no secret the Uruguayan has struggled to settle since his arrival from Porto. Made all the more difficult by his now being able to master the English language.
However, viewers of Liverpool’s “Inside Training” feature would have been pleasantly surprised by the 24 year-olds contributions in his new home tongue.
A grasp of the language is fundamental for any player in order to properly settle and Liverpool’s new no. 9 will improve no end now. I’m sure this will translate into performances on the pitch.

The Ugly
Mo Salah missing for the Olympics in 2024 in addition to AFCON? The Egyptian Football Association (if that’s what it’s called) have muted they may wish to select the club talisman to represent the country in next year’s games in Paris.
This would be a big blow for the team, but one I hope they can navigate given the recent improvements to the squad.
Calm waters never a good sailor made, as the saying goes, and this is no less apt for Jürgen Klopp and his players as they move into the next chapter.
