LFC: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly – Preseason Gameweek #3
The big man gets the arm band, but our midfielder interest is rejected out of hand. The boys stumble to a loss and now reefs will show who’s boss. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly at Liverpool FC. The weekly podcast from The LFC File.
The Good
Liverpool confirming Virgil van Dijk as the new Liverpool captain. In addition, Trent Alexander will be his vice captain. The move for the big Dutchman is no surprise but what catches the eye is the appointment of the clubs local academy graduate Alexander-Arnold.
The Bad
Liverpools concentration levels in their penultimate preseason friendly against Bayern Munich in Singapore. Jürgen Klopp was quite rightly, less than impressed with his side after the performance. New captain Virgil van Dijk was quick to point out that there is “still work to do…” TRUE!!
The Ugly
Saints reject Liverpools second offer for Lavea. Time to move on? The Reds have been linked with Andre, the Fluminense midfielder who, I should add does look like a very good alternative. Belgian reporter Sacha Tavolieri claims that the move is still on. It does appear though, that Liverpool will have to mee5 the Southampton asking price of £50m which in my opinion is far too much for a player with only one years’ premiership experience. When you think, the club bought Dominik Szlonoszlai for less, it does it make sense.
