Liverpool FC: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly – Preseason Gameweek #4

The Reds make us grin, closing preseason with a win, but can LFC save face in a transfer wild goose chase? The local rag lacks a conscience, still continuing to write nonsense! The Good, The Bad and The Ugly at Liverpool FC. The weekly podcast from The LFC File.

The Good

The Reds finishing preseason strongly with a 3-1 win at Deepdale against newly promoted Bundesliga side SV Darmstadt 98. An early goal from Mo Salah Liverpool into an early lead, which was extended shortly afterwards with a rare right foot finish from Diogo Jota. Matthias Honsak pulled one back for the visitors to keep them in the game and make it 2-1 at the interval.

Luis Díaz, topped off the scoring for Liverpool with a superb back, healed effort to give the Reds a comfortable win. It should be noted that the Colombian’s finish was absolutely sublime.

The Bad

Liverpool’s embarrassing pursuit of Romeo Lavia. Like I said in the last podcast, the whole thing is becoming very Manyoo-esque now with bid after bid being rejected. At the end of the day, if the club don’t want to pay the asking price, why haven’t they secured this Andre Trindade or, another target if they can’t get a deal done before January? The whole thing is becoming a joke.

The Ugly

The reporting from the Echo, Liverpool’s local newspaper. Again they come with a massively misleading headline, purely in attempt at click bait. This time, the Merseyside based red-top leads with a headline: lCurtis Jones and Harvey Elliott left fuming as Jorg Schmaltier spotted in Liverpool talks”.

One would expect the two things are related. The LFC youngsters are upset with something the club’s new director of football was negotiating. As if the pair are facing some unwelcome news… er…, no! The two things are TOTALLY unrelated. The German was on the phone whilst vaping in the car park, and the two lads were unhappy at the treatment of a young fan at the recent friendly match against FC Darmstadt.

More total nonsense from the Echo. Well done lads!!
