Liverpool FC: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly – International Break

Despite spending money for fun, the huge bid for the striker doesn’t come. The defender who had stepped out of line has his ban extended plus a hefty fine. And just as the club has saved face, the pursuers refuse to give up the chase. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly at Liverpool FC in the international break.

The Good

Mo Salah is still a Liverpool player. A last minute bid from Saudi Arabian pro-League side Al Ittihad – rumoured to be in the region of £215m failed to materialise.

As things stand, Salah remains at the club. The question is: How long?

The Bad

Captain Virgil van Dijk’s ban is extended for a further game by the Football Association, following his red card in the Newcastle United fixture.

After his mandatory ban, he was given a further ban, plus a £100,000 fine.

The Ugly

Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad’s pursuit of Mo Salah has been unsuccessful as a last minute bid failed to materialise. However, the Saudis are refusing to give up on arguably the Arab world’s biggest modern day hero.

One would like to think that Liverpool will be looking for a replacement, should this bid materialise. Despite this being against the grain, I have a lot of faith in the Reds transfer abilities.
