Liverpool FC: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly – EPL Gameweek #5
The Reds were all over the place, but end up saving face. Player in the know, says the Talisman was ready to go. Klopp plays bad cop to rouse his team of underachieving flops. The good, the bad and the ugly at Liverpool FC EPL Gameweek 5 brought to you by the LFC file.
The Good
The result against wolves on Saturday. Despite falling behind (see The Ugly below), to underline possibly the worst half of football I’ve ever seen from a Liverpool side, the boys got the result.
Judging by Alex Mac Allister’s face when he sat down on the subs bench (having been hauled off) it was evident that Jürgen Klopp had, had a few choice words for the team in his halftime talk.
Football is – according to the cliche, a game of two halves and in the second half the real Liverpool team duly arrived.
Cody Gakpo tapped home Mo Salah’s cross on 55 minutes to bring the visitors level. As the hosts felt that they were going to get a point, a late effort from Andy Robertson, and an own goal from Hugo Bueno secured a convincing comeback for the Merseyside club.

The Bad
This weeks Bad comes from the Liverpool Echo who we all know is not my favourite of newspapers. However, they ran a story just today actually, quoting West Ham striker Michail Antonio where he claims that Mo Salah “was ready to go”. With regards to the bid from Al-Ittihad in the summer.
However, as usual, our friends from the echo, are rather economical with the truth, because Mr Antonio didn’t actually claim, it was a fact merely that he felt that Salah was ready to go. Only Liverpool intervened and blocked the deal.

The Ugly
For me, this was Liverpool‘s first half performance against Wolves on Saturday. I struggle to recall. I worst Liverpool performance during a game than this. Surely there has been but watching on Saturday I would’ve struggled to believe that that was the case.
Liverpool simply didn’t turn up and wolves were absolutely well deserving of the first half lead. They completely hassled the Reds out of the game which even today players seem to come as a surprise.
Clearly, some choice words by head with the team at half-time because the Liverpool Reds, that we all know, joined us, despairing fans in the second half to show us that we are supporting the correct team.
