Liverpool FC: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly – EPL Gameweek #7
Reds to meet the Cherries after slaying the Foxes, and the new no. 8 is ticking all the right boxes. Down to nine men, but still in the race, undone by refereeing not short of a disgrace. A disappointing week in FPL, ‘keeper and defender in total hell. The Good, The Bad and, The Ugly. Gameweek 6 reviewed at Liverpool Football Club and the Fantasy Premier League.
The Good
Beating Leicester 3-1 in the Carabao Cup
Liverpool booked their place in the Carabao Cup fourth round last week with a 3-1 win over Leicester City at Anfield. The Reds gave their visitors the now customary head start, allowing the Foxes to take the lead shortly after kick off
The latest Good, Bad and Ugly Podcast
Goals from Cody Gakpo, a screamer from Dominik Szoboszlai and a classy, late Diogo Jogo back heal saw Liverpool comfortably in the end.
The Bad
Losing to Tottenham Hotspur in injury time on Saturday having received two red cards. Curtis Jones’s was sent for an early bath following a clumsy tackle on Bissouma. Then substitute Diogo Jota was also shown a red for another climate challenge.
In the end a valiant Red side held Spurs off until Joel Matip put the ball into his own net with a tired-looking clearance in front of goal.
The Very, Very Ugly
The refereeing on the Spurs game. Absolutely reticula refereeing. Luis Diaz had what seemed to be a perfectly legitimate goal ruled out for offside. The customary guide lines weren’t shown and thus left everyone with a totally intransparent decision.
Position of the players when Salah passed, Diaz was being played onside by the Spurs left sided central defender.
It now transpires that Liverpool have received an apology from the refereeing body PGMOL… too little, too late I fear.
