Liverpool: The Good, The Bad And The Ugly – EPL Gameweek #10

The Reds give Toulouse too much to do, and same for Forest too. Despite the wins and euphoria, bad news from South America. Soon it’s Movember, and time to remember. Another good week in FPL, but the captain choice… oh well! The Good, The Bad and Two Uglies. EPL and FPL Gameweek 10 reviewed at Liverpool FC.

The Good

Liverpool cruised to a 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest at Anfield this afternoon to bring to an end a successful week to a close.

Goals from Diogo Jota, Darwin Núñez and Mo Salah gave Liverpool a comfortable win. The visitors had one superb chance which canines off the home crossbar as full time neared.

A notable event was when Jota scored and help up the number 7 shirt in support of teammate Luis Diaz who has been in news for family reasons (see the Ugly below).

The win leaves Liverpool in fourth on 23 points. One point behind Manchester City and Arsenal (24) and Tottenham two points clear at the top on 26.

The Bad

The result against Toulouse in the Europa League on Thursday.

The Reds took the lead through Diogo Jota but were pegged back when Thijs Dallinga finished off a fine move for the visitors.

After a tense few minutes, Liverpool regained control of the game and went into the break 3-1 to the good after goals from Endo – his first in a Red shirt, and Núñez put the hosts firmly back in the driving seat.

The second half was all red as Liverpool completed the evening with goals from the very impressive and industrious Ryan Gravenberch and Mo Salah. Liverpool maintained their perfect record so far in this competition this season.

The Ugly

News came from Columbia on Saturday that the parents of winger Luis Diaz had been kidnapped. His mother was found alive and well, but the search continues for his father according to reports.

The Columbian international was left out of the side to face Toulouse on Thursday and was expected to be back in the squad for the visit of Forest. Alas the 26 year-old was not included in the squad to face Terry Cooper’s side.
