Liverpool: The Good, The Bad And The Ugly – EPL Gameweek #11

A stunner buries the Cherries, but the defence is in tatters against the Hatters. After many a nervous day, Papa is soon back home to stay. A great week in Fantasy, only a few get more than me! The Good, The Bad and The Ugly at Liverpool FC in EPL and FPL. Gameweek 11.

The Good

The midweek Carabao win against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. A game played in true cup spirit. Liverpool secured the win following a stunning winner from Darwin Núñez.

Liverpool took the lead through Cody Gakpo and went into the break in front. However Justin Kluivert, son of Holland legend Patrick brought the hosts back into the game with a well taken goal after 65 minutes.

Later, substitute restored the Reds’ advantage with what turned out to be the winner. Glorious long-ranged offer from the edge of the Cherries’ box.

Liverpool will now host West Ham in the quarter final of the competition.

The Bad

Liverpool were able to scrape a draw against newly promoted Luton Town at Kenilworth Road last night after Tahiti Chong put the Hatters in the lead in an open second half.

The first half was a very tense affair, with a nervous-looking Liverpool unable to break down their resolute hosts. Darwin Núñez was his typical Jekyll and Hyde self, spurning a sitter at the far post. Later forcing a superb save from Thomas Kaminski with a first-time rocket a few moments later.

As it looked as if there was going to be a shock on the cards, cometh the hour, cometh the man. That man was Luis Diaz, back in the squad after good news concerning his dad (see the smugly). The columbian rising to meet Harvey Elliott’s cross in the fifth minute of time added on.

The Ugly

Not super smugly, but there has been a positive update on Luis Diaz’s father.

According to reports, the guerrilla group holding him say they will release the winger’s father “as soon as possible”. That in itself is a strange statement, but let’s live in hope they do as they say.
