Liverpool: The Good, The Bad And The Ugly – EPL Gameweek #13
More seats ready for Manyoo, that’ll do! The boys show what could be, with a decent display away at City. Our young prodigy, could use some help in diplomacy. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly at Liverpool FC in EPL Gameweek 13.
The Good
Good News reported by the Echo this week. Liverpool announce that the refurbished Anfield Road stand will partially reopen for the Manchester United game on December 17th.
There’s been much speculation over the opening of the new stand, after the initial contractors Buckingham went bust at the end of the summer. However following the appointment of Rowan, the opening date had been brought forward in line with the proviso estimate.
It’s unlikely the entire stand will be open but there will be a part of our available to fans.
The (Not) Bad
The draw against Manchester City at the Etihad on Saturday. Liverpool ridership luck to a large degree but, as the saying goes, you make your own luck!
Trent Alexander-Arnold secured a share of the points for Liverpool with a late equaliser at the Etihad. A very good performance from the boys. Standouts for me were of course Trent, but also Kostas Tsimikas who was great at left back.
Alex Mac Allister also put in a great shift along with the rest of the defence. Sloboszlai was a little Belle par, but not on Curtis Jones’ level. The youngster had a shocker and was fairly taken off at half time.
Jürgen Klopp summed it up in the post match saying the team passed “a” test but not “the” test, and “we take what we get which I fully agree. “I take what we get and work from here and that is what we will do.” Fair words!
The Ugly
The standoff between Darwin Núñez and Pep Guardiola after the game. An incident which one would call “Handbags” the Anfield Edition X account described the Uruguayan as “something else”. I’d wager that Pep Guardiola called him… something else!
In the end no harm done and both parties insist there was nothing to see. Okaaay!
