Liverpool: The Good, The Bad And The Ugly – EPL Gameweek #17

Dropping points with a bore draw, and in Europe even more gore. Uncle Woy makes us smile, but in EPL, off by a mile. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly at Liverpool FC for EPL and FPL Gameweek 17.

The Good

If you can call it that, the 0-0draw against Manchester United at Anfield last night. A fixture that usually brings out the best in both teams. This time however, that lot from the wrong end of the East Lancs Road were content to sit in front of their goal and fight out a bore draw.

A very frustrating night for Liverpool with plenty of possession and opposition that rode their luck throughout.

The Bad

Losing away in the last group game of the Europa League to Union Saint Galloise on Thursday.

In a game many would have expected Liverpool to stroll to a comfortable win, their opponents demonstrated that they also have earned a place at the top table.

Nonetheless, Liverpool topped group E and qualify for the last 16 in a good position. Jürgen Klopp made countless changes and fielded a youthful side in order for the clubs youngsters to taste European action.

Sadly, the boys weren’t up to the task and fell behind after around the half hour mark. Despite Jarell Quansah wetting an equaliser, the Reds conceded again before the half time whistle blew.

The game didn’t produce any more noteworthy action and the Belgian side will remember this victory for a long time to come.

The (Sm)Ugly

Watching Crystal Palace boss and former Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson’s face as Crystal Palace snatched a draw away at the Etihad.

The equaliser left former Reds boss with a huge smile on his face as Pep Guardiola fumed at the missed opportunity.
