The Good, The Bad & The Ugly – 2024/25 Gameweek 4

A result that hurt us all in a red shirt, a miserable message a keeper sends, as the home record ends. Leaving before the whistle goes? That’s worse than my FPL woes.

The (Not) Good

The 0-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest at Anfield yesterday. A solitary second half goal from Callum Hudson-Odoi was enough to give the visitors a well-deserved win.

To be fair to Liverpool, they had enough chances to win this game in the first half. Inspired goalkeeping from Matz Sels, poor luck and poor finishing conspired to defeat the Reds in their own back yard.

I wouldn’t say this is a disaster for Liverpool, but they definitely can’t afford many more of this kind of result that’s for sure. With Manchester City unbeaten this season, the Reds will need to be at the races every time if they wish to have something to smile about come May. On this showing, it could be a long season.

The Bad

The interview Alisson gave after Liverpool’s defeat yesterday. The Brazilian spoke of the visitors’ long ball tactics, but rightly identified the poor defending that lead to the goal.

The irritation from the stopper was clear to see as he vented his frustration at the result which saw their arch-rivals of the 70s and 80s go to within a point of them in fifth.

The Ugly

Liverpool supporters seen leaving the ground before the final whistle. This is for me, sacrilege. If I had my way, those so-called fans would be banned from entering the ground for a match!

Reminder: you’re supposed to be a SUPPORTER!! That means – as you clearly need reminding, that you support the team, from the beginning… to the end. One thing I know for sure from experience, is that had Liverpool scored two goals and won in the dying minutes, those very fickle “fans” would be gloating about how they were there… typical!

I don’t go to the matches these days for various reasons, by when I did, I NEVER left my seat until the ref blew the final whistle. Shame on you!!
