Manchester City vs Liverpool Match Preview
Another point gained. Or two more lost?
Certainly a recurring theme away from Anfield since the new year which Liverpool will need to rectify if the Premier League title is to reside at Anfield come the end of May.Manchester City provide another stern examination for the Reds on Sunday at the Etihad (4:30pm GMT)
City, albeit struggling domestically (by their high standards), and knocked out of European competition by Kylian Mbappe and Madrid, will desperately want to exact revenge on Liverpool.
Their performance at Anfield in November was inept at best and while they have improved in the last six weeks, they remain defensively vulnerable.
Liverpool will get chances. If they can convert them, something they could not fully do at Villa Park, then a victory will not be out of their reach.
Guardiola’s team still possess a wide range of attacking options. Erling Haaland is a constant threat, Phil Foden always turns up against the Reds, while Omar Marmoush looks a good January addition for the Blues.
Liverpool will need to defend as a unit, keep hold of possession and find a killer touch to take all the points back to Merseyside.
Predicted line up :-
Allison, Alexander Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsmikas, Jones, Gravenberch, Macallister, Diaz, Gakpo, Salah.
